Braymer FFA livestock team wins state competition

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 23, 2025 – The Braymer FFA Chapter won the livestock evaluation career development event at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 60 teams in the competition.
The team members are Gage Swindler, Dylan Swindler, Cass Kleeman, and Jacob Smith. Swindler placed 3rd, Swindler placed 5th, Kleeman placed 31 and Smith placed 46 out of 231 participants. The Braymer FFA advisor is Kelly Lee.
Participants in the contest evaluate beef, sheep and swine using performance records and physical appraisals. The team members present oral reasons on three of six classes they judged to defend and explain the placing of the class.
Sponsored by Star Labs, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
