Neosho FFA food science team wins state competition

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 23, 2025 – The Neosho FFA Chapter won the food science career development event at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 24 teams in the competition.
The team members are McKenzie Noah, Bryce Winchester, Ace Farley, and Aepryl Barr. McKenzie placed 5th, Winchester placed 6th, Farley placed 20th and Barr placed 23rd out of 93 participants. The Neosho FFA advisors are Kelin Kruse, John Littlefield, Jennifer Thogmartin, Sara Morgan and Cole Jackson.
Food science teams are required to have an in-depth understanding of food product development, food presentation and food safety issues. Participants also use their sensory skills to solve problems and make sound decisions.
Sponsored by Bunge, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
