COLUMBIA, Mo., April 23, 2025 – The Palmyra FFA Chapter won the farm management career development event at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 48 teams in the competition.

The team members are Blaydn Buckwalter, Gianna Mahsman, Lynton Bock, and Mitchell Hocking.  Buckwalter placed 1st, Mahsman placed 2nd, Bock placed 12th, and Hocking placed 13th out of 176 participants. The Palmyra FFA advisors are Luke Mahsman and Amanda Haeberlin

Contestants analyzed real-life business problems and completed a detailed exam to prove their understanding of economic principles. Participants used what they learned in their agricultural business classes to compete. Skills the students apply in the event will help them face even greater challenges in their professional lives.

Sponsored by BTC Bank, this contest is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage students in learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
