Neosho FFA dairy cattle team wins state competition

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 23, 2025 – The Neosho FFA Chapter won the dairy cattle evaluation career development event at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 60 teams in the competition.
The team members are Ava Hines, Jesse Davis, Chelsea Haslip, Madyson Fare. Hines placed 1st, Davis placed 6th, Haslip placed 14th, and Fare placed 25th out of 229 participants. The Neosho FFA advisors are Kelin Kruse, John Littlefield, Jennifer Thogmartin, Sara Morgan and Cole Jackson.
Individuals in this event are scored based on how well they apply dairy cattle evaluation skills learned in the classroom. Each team evaluates six classes of four dairy cattle and presents oral reasons on their evaluations.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
