Havlik of Silex FFA Chapter named state vice president

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 19, 2024 – During the 96th Missouri FFA Convention, Braden Matthew Havlik was named a 2024-2025 State FFA vice president. His parents are Michael and Rebecca Havlik. Havlik’s advisors are Sean O’Brien and Elizabeth Kientzy.

Havlik’s supervised agriculture experience involves diversified livestock production entrepreneurship and food service placement. Within this entrepreneurship SAE, he raises and exhibits beef cattle, sheep, goats and poultry. He also markets eggs and beef products to local community members. In his food service SAE, Havlik is employed through J.R. Diamonds Restaurant where he prepares ingredients weekly and works as a part-time cook.

As an FFA member, Havlik has served as chapter sentinel, reporter and first vice president. He has also served the Area V Association as vice president. Havlik competed in the FFA knowledge leadership development event and the livestock evaluation career development on the state level. 

In addition to FFA, Havlik has been a member of the National Honor Society, student council, Future Business Leaders of America and served as varsity softball and basketball manager.

After graduating high school, Havlik plans to study agricultural education-communications and leadership with a minor in political science in hopes of becoming an agricultural lobbyist.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
