Davis of Marshall FFA chapter named State Vice President

COLUMBIA Mo., April 19, 2024 – During the 96th Missouri FFA Convention, Gentrie Davis was named a 2024-2025 State FFA Vice President. Davis is a member of the Marshall FFA Chapter. Her parents are Lyndsey and Derek Davis. Her advisors are Trent Deppe, Katie Latimer, and McKalie Lorenz.
Davis’ supervised agricultural experience program consists of owning a show equine operation as well as a milling and baking business. Davis participated in Fall speaking for three years and advanced to district finals all three years. Davis received first in the state at the Missouri Quarter Horse Association Fall Speaking Contest. Davis also competed in the Missouri Institute of Cooperatives and Teach Ag speaking contests.
In 2023, Davis was named a #SpeakAg Showcase winner at the National FFA Convention and Expo. Davis was also selected as the Area VI Star Agribusiness in 2024. In 2021 Davis was a recipient of a National FFA SAE Grant. Davis was named the Marshall FFA Chapter Star Greenhand, Star in Agribusiness, and Outstanding Leader.
Davis has served as the Saline County Career Center DECA Chapter Vice-President of Marketing for the past 2 years. Davis also represented the Saline County Career Center as a student Ambassador for the past two years. Davis also participated in the National Honor Society and A+ program. Davis also is actively involved in the First Baptist Church of Marshall.
After high school, Davis plans to attend State Fair Community College to study agricultural communications. Davis hopes to expand her baking and milling business.
The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
