Claycomb of Trenton FFA Chapter named State Star Farmer

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 19, 2024 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Cade Claycomb of the Trenton FFA Chapter as the State Star Farmer at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention. He is the son of Clint and Shari Claycomb of Spickard. His advisors are Kabel Oaks and Sadie Stimpson. 

State Star Farmers are chosen based on outstanding production agriculture in the student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. 

American Family Insurance sponsors the 16 Area Star Farmer awards and the State Star Farmer award.

Claycomb’s supervised agricultural program involves managing a herd of 42 Jersey dairy cattle. His responsibilities include making breeding decisions and milking. Claycomb’s herd averages 9,400 lbs. of milk production per week.

As an FFA member, Claycomb has served as chapter junior secretary, secretary and vice president. He has also attended Public Speaking Academy and Washington Leadership Conference. In addition to FFA, Claycomb is a member of the Future Business Leaders of Tomorrow and the Missouri Jersey Association.

After high school graduation, Claycomb plans to attend North Central MissourI College to earn his associate’s degree. He then plans to attend Oklahoma State University to study agricultural communications and ethical leadership.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
