Claycomb is state winner in dairy production entrepreneurship proficiency award area

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 18, 2024 – Cade Claycomb of Spickard won the Missouri FFA Dairy Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention.
Claycomb, a senior at Trenton R-IX High School, is the son of Clint and Shari Claycomb. He is a member of the Trenton FFA Chapter. His advisors are Kabel Oaks and Sadie Stimpson.
Claycomb’s supervised agricultural experience program involves owning 42 registered Jersey dairy cattle, 32 of which produce milk. His responsibilities include cattle management, milking, and keeping accurate registration records.
As an FFA member, Claycomb has attended the HYPE Academy and the LEAD Conference for Chapter Officers. In addition to FFA, Claycomb is a member of the Missouri Jersey Association and the Trenton High School Student Council.
After graduating high school, Claycomb plans to study agricultural communications at Oklahoma State University and then return to the family dairy farm.
Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Dairy Production Entrepreneurship is one of 46 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Midwest Dairy Association sponsored this award.
The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
