COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2024 – Bryson Schellhorn of Guilford won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention.
Schellhorn, a senior at King City R-I, is the son of Ryan and Amy Schellhorn. He is a member of the King City FFA Chapter. His advisor is Stuart Shifflett.
Schellhorn’s supervised agricultural experience program involves repairing and fixing agricultural equipment and supplies. His responsibilities include cutting and welding material, project management, and product marketing.
As an FFA member, Schellhorn has attended Youth Leadership Day at the American Royal and National FFA Convention. In addition to FFA, Schellhorn is a member of the First Baptist Church of Stanberry Youth Group and does other volunteer work.
After graduating high school, Schellhorn plans to work in the sheet metal worker’s union and continue to repair agricultural equipment.
Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Entrepreneurship is one of 46 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Heritage Tractor sponsored this award.
The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
