Dierking is state winner in agricultural services proficiency award area

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 18, 2024 – Michael Robert Dierking of Blackburn won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Services Proficiency Award at the 96th Missouri State FFA Convention.
Dierking, a 2023 graduate of Santa Fe High School, is the son of Joel and Marla Dierking. He is a member of the Santa Fe FFA Chapter. His FFA advisor is Martha Schreiman.
Dierking’s supervised agricultural experience included working for Dierking Tiling installing field drainage systems. His responsibilities include using a shovel in the trench to uncover tiles, operating excavators to dig up starter holes and installing fittings.
In FFA, Dierking has competed in the National FFA Diversified Crop Production and Fiber and Oil crop Production proficiencies as well as in the state Ag Mechanics, Soils and Forestry career development events.
In addition to FFA, Dierking is a member of the Walkenezer 4-H Club, the Zion Lutheran Church, Math Club and National Honor Society.
After graduation, Dierking plans to continue operating Dierking Tilling and to expand to serve more customers for his tilling and farm services.
Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Services is one of 48 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Vivayic sponsors this award.
