Schneider places fifth in state FFA advanced prepared public speaking competition
COLUMBIA, Mo., April 21, 2023 — Bailey Schneider of the Warrenton FFA Chapter placed fifth in the advanced prepared public speaking leadership development event at the 95th Missouri FFA Convention. Sixteen students from six districts were selected to compete at the state level. The Warrenton FFA advisors are Dan Burkemper and Diane Miederhoff.
Missouri Army National Guard and Missouri Army ROTC sponsors the competition, which requires contestants to deliver a six -to-eight-minute speech based on an agriculture topic they have selected and researched. The contestants present their speech in front of a panel of judges and then undergo an additional five minutes of questions. The event helps students to polish logical thinking and verbal skills needed in the classroom.
The Missouri FFA has 26,716 members representing 356 chapters. The national organization has more than 850,000 members representing 8,995 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
