COLUMBIA, Mo., April 21, 2023 — The Nichols Career Center FFA Chapter placed fifth in the FFA agricultural issues forum leadership development event at the 95th Missouri FFA Convention.

Nichols Career Center team members are Johnathan Hasty, Grace Luebbeing, Elijah Teiberis, Karley Vanderslice, Ava Williams, and Savannah Williams. The Nichols Career Center FFA advisors are Erin Carl, Emily Groner, and Rachel Longan.

Teams in the agricultural issues forum LDE create a presentation focused on an important agricultural issue faced by their community. Team members give their presentation at least five times to community organizations before competing in the event.

Sponsored by the Missouri Army National Guard and Missouri Army ROTC, this event is one of many ways the FFA prepares student members for career success.

LDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

The Missouri FFA has 26,716 members representing 356 chapters. The national organization has more than 850,000 members representing 8,995 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
