Richmond agricultural communications team places second in state competition

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 21, 2023 – The Richmond FFA Chapter placed second in the MSU State Agricultural Communications CDE, held at Missouri State University, and were recognized at the 95th Missouri FFA Convention.

The team members are Jayden Allnutt, Allison Coats, Grace Bozarth, and Alli Powell. The Richmond FFA advisors are Laura Allen, and Charles Foreman Jr.

Entries include a written communications plan created by all team members prior to the contest. During the event, each team member competes in one of four individual contests: media plan presentation, journalistic writing, opinion writing, or web design. Every team member also participates in an editing exercise and communications quiz. These students can successfully apply classroom learning to real-life situations.

Sponsored by Missouri State University Darr College of Agriculture, Agricultural Communications Progam, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

The Missouri FFA has 26,716 members representing 356 chapters. The national organization has more than 850,000 members representing 8,995 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
