Columbia agricultural communications team wins state competition
COLUMBIA, Mo., April 21, 2023 – The Columbia FFA Chapter won the MSU State Agricultural Communications CDE, held at Missouri State University and were recognized at the 95th Missouri FFA Convention.
The team members are Sadie Tummons, Hailey Frost, Madilynn Wehmeyer, and Quentin Hall. The Columbia FFA advisors are Austin DeHaven, Kevin Duncan, Taylor Howell, Matthew Praiswater, Jacob Rahmer, and Sherie Rodekohr.
Entries include a written communications plan created by all team members prior to the contest. During the event, each team member competes in one of four individual contests: media plan presentation, journalistic writing, opinion writing, or web design. Every team member also participates in an editing exercise and communications quiz. These students can successfully apply classroom learning to real-life situations.
