Robinson of the Bloomfield FFA Chapter named Area 15 Star in Placement
COLUMBIA, Mo., April 22, 2021 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Will Robinson of Bloomfield FFA Chapter as the Area 15 Star in Placement at the 94th Missouri FFA Convention. His parents are Tracy and Bill Robinson. His advisor is Chad Upchurch.
Area Stars in Placement are selected based upon outstanding achievement in work experience in an agricultural business as a part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. Area 15 includes 22 chapters in the Southeast District.
MFA Inc., Columbia, sponsors the 16 area Star in Placement awards and the State Star in Placement Award.
Robinson’s SAE started on his family farm where he has helped with an assortment of things including hay harvest, field preparation, soybean planting, grounds and fence upkeep and enhancement, and habitat management projects to promote wildlife. He helps his mother’s small business and does construction, maintenance and mowing for their family’s commercial rental properties. Before being employed at Juston Jarrell Concrete Construction, Robinson worked on his church carpentry team. There he was able to assist in building their new church sanctuary building, doing things from framing and insulation to the building and installment of the tongue-and-groove ceiling.
Robinson currently serves at the Bloomfield FFA sentinel. He helps his fellow members facilitate the agriculture-based educational program called “Ag Ed on the Move.” He has competed at the state level in soils, forestry, grasslands evaluation and agronomy career development events. He has competed at the SEMO District Fair and Stoddard County Fair in field crops/soybeans, livestock and poultry receiving several blue ribbons. Robinson has attended State FFA Leadership Camp, National FFA Convention & Expo, State FFA Convention, and Greenhand Motivational Conference.
Outside of FFA, Robinson is on the praise and worship team at St. Joe General Baptist Church, is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Beta Club and Pep Club, and is currently serving as his class president. He plays on his high school baseball team and has been in the Southeast Missouri District Choir throughout his high school career.
After graduating high school, Robinson’s plans include attending Southeast Missouri State University to study agribusiness and habitat management.
The Missouri FFA has 25,626 members representing 353 chapters. The national organization has more than 735,000 members representing 8,817 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
