Hale of Mount Vernon FFA Chapter named Area 11 Star in Placement
COLUMBIA, Mo., April 22, 2021 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Nathan Hale of the Mount Vernon FFA Chapter as the Area 11 Star in Placement at the 94th Missouri FFA Convention. His parents are Jarrod and April Hale of Mount Vernon. His advisors are Jay Shepherd, Steven Prewitt and Makayla Berheim.
Area Stars in Placement are selected based upon outstanding achievement in work experience in an agricultural business as a part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. Area 11 includes 17 chapters in the Southwest District.
MFA Inc., Columbia, Mo., sponsors the 16 area Star in Placement awards and the State Star in Placement Award.
Hale’s supervised agricultural experience includes beef production placement. He works on the Vaughn Family Beef Farm. Hale’s responsibilities expanded from mowing the grounds to running the operation in the absence of its owner.
Hale participated in the agricultural mechanics career development event. Hale attended State FFA Convention and National FFA Convention & Expo.
In addition to FFA, Hale is a member of the squad and art clubs and the Church in Action youth group. Hale served as the chairman of the safety committee and the leader of the barrel committee for Apple Butter Makin’ Days.
After graduating high school, Hale’s plans include attending Missouri Technical Institute, Springfield, to complete Class A CDL training classes and begin a lineman apprenticeship.
The Missouri FFA has 25,626 members representing 353 chapters. The national organization has more than 735,000 members representing 8,817 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
