King of Dadeville FFA Chapter named State FFA Vice President

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 21, 2022 – During the 94th Missouri FFA Convention, Jacob King was named the 2022-2023 State FFA Vice President. King is a member of the Dadeville FFA Chapter. His parents are Jason and Julie King of Dadeville. His advisor is Jordan Buck. 

 

King’s supervised agricultural experience program consists of a vegetable garden, employment at Pennington Seed–a fescue seed company, and employment throughout the agriculture community helping haul hay, mowing lawns, weed eating, landscaping and planting flowers. When King is not planting tomatoes, corn, green beans or any of his other vegetables, he also raises and trains Cocker Spaniel bird dogs. 

 

During high school, King served as Area 10 first vice president and chapter president, vice president and secretary. 

 

King participated at FFA creed speaking, FFA knowledge and Division II prepared public speaking leadership development events and entomology career development event. He also participated in area fruit production, vegetable production and outdoor recreation proficiency applications. King was named chapter Star Greenhand, Star in Agribusiness and awarded for his efforts in fundraising and leadership. 

 

In addition to FFA, King served as the president of National Honor Society, captain of the scholar bowl team and band leader. He is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, baseball and basketball teams. King was also an A+ tutor and attended Missouri Boys State. 

 

After graduating high school, King plans to study agribusiness management at the College of the Ozarks- Lookout Point. 

The Missouri FFA has 25,626 members representing 353 chapters. The national organization has more than 735,000 members representing 8,817 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
