Maubach is state winner in agricultural mechanics repair and maintenance placement proficiency award area

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 21, 2022 – Quintin Thomas Maubach of Shelbina, Missouri, won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Placement Proficiency Award at the 94th Missouri FFA Convention.

 

Maubach, a senior at South Shelby High School, is the son of Tom and Erin Maubach. He is a member of the South Shelby FFA Chapter. His advisors are Kaytlyn Mefford and Mitch Schmidt.

 

Maubach’s supervised agricultural experience program consists of assisting mechanics with repairing farm equipment at 4-RD Farm Repair. He is responsible for welding machinery, assisting with motor and transmission rebuilds, and replacing and repairing hydraulic lines. 

 

During his time in FFA, Maubach attended National FFA Convention, the Paris Trap Shoot, Brunswick Judging Day, UMC Field Day, Missouri FFA Convention, and Missouri State FFA Camp. 

 

In addition to FFA, Maubach is a member of the football and baseball teams. He is also a member of the Lentner Pioneers 4-H Club and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. 

 

Maubach plans to attend State Technical College in Linn and enroll in the Heavy Equipment Technology program. He plans to become a heavy equipment mechanic. 

 

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agriculture Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Placement is one of 48 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Lincoln Electric Company sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 25,626 members representing 353 chapters. The national organization has more than 735,000 members representing 8,817 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
