Miller FFA entomology team places third in state competition
COLUMBIA, Mo., April 22, 2022 – The Miller FFA Chapter placed third in the entomology career development event at the 94th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 48 teams in the competition.
The team members include Mya Lowery, Emma Butler, Morgan Holton and Ethan McCracken. Lowery placed third, Butler placed 20th, Holton placed 41st and McCracken placed 85th out of 107 participants. The Miller FFA advisors are Jacob Noblitt and Emily Paul.
The entomology teams take a written exam on pesticide application and safety regulations as well as identify species of insects.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 25,626 members representing 353 chapters. The national organization has more than 735,000 members representing 8,817 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
