Logan-Rogersville FFA dairy cattle team places third in state competition
COLUMBIA, Mo., April 22, 2022 – The Logan-Rogersville FFA Chapter placed third in the dairy cattle evaluation career development event at the 94th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 60 teams in the competition.
The team members include Nathan Hyde, Bybee Adaline, Graycen Baird and Kendall Green. Hyde placed 15th, Adaline placed 26th, Baird placed 38th and Green placed 51st out of 223 participants. The Logan-Rogersville FFA advisors are Jayson Shriver and Christi Smith.
Individuals in this event are scored based on how well they apply dairy cattle evaluation skills learned in the classroom. Each team evaluates six classes of four dairy cattle and presents oral reasons on their evaluations.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 25,626 members representing 353 chapters. The national organization has more than 735,000 members representing 8,817 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
