Grisham of Eldon FFA Chapter named Area 8 Star in Placement

DALIA, Mo., May 1, 2021 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Holden Ralph Grisham of the Eldon FFA Chapter as the Area 8 Star in Placement and one of four finalists at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. Grisham is the son of John and Lorrie Grisham of Eldon. His advisors are Nick Parks, Gary Reichel and Jason Twenter.

Area Stars in Placement are selected based upon outstanding achievement in work experience in an agricultural business as a part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. Area 8 includes 24 chapters in the Central District.

MFA Inc., Columbia, sponsors the 16 area Star in Placement awards and the State Star in Placement Award.

Grisham’s SAE includes working for Tompkins Farms where he has done a number of tasks like mowing grass; weedeating; raking, mowing and baling hay; and using the rotary cutter. Grisham also assists with the livestock on the farm.

Grisham served as chapter first vice president. He competed in the forestry, grasslands, agricultural mechanics and agricultural sales career development events. Grisham also participated in the conduct of chapter meetings leadership development event. He attended National FFA Convention and Expo. and was selected to attend the Helping Youth Maximize Agricultural eXperiences Academy.

In addition to FFA, Grisham is a member of the National Honor Society. He is a member of Spring Garden 4-H Club. He attends the Ninth Street Christian Church and is a member of the youth group.

After graduating high school, Grisham plans attending State Technical College of Missouri, Linn, focusing on their lineman program. After graduating, Grisham plans working for a local electric company.

The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
