Chapman of Paris FFA Chapter named Area 4 Star in Placement
SEDALIA, Mo., May 1, 2021 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Ethan Chapman of the Paris FFA Chapter as the Area 4 Star in Placement at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. His parents are Jason and Trazzarra Chapman of Paris. His advisors are Josh Bondy and Audrey Nobis.
Area Stars in Placement are selected based upon outstanding achievement in work experience in an agricultural business as a part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. Area 4 includes 22 chapters in the Northeast District.
MFA Inc., Columbia, Mo., sponsors the 16 area Star in Placement awards and the State Star in Placement Award.
Chapman’s SAE involves his employment at Wade Feed, a local feed store. Chapman assisted with bagging and loading feeds for customers in the beginning. With more experience, he learned how to run the computers and mix feed rations for the store. Chapman has also developed skills in customer service through his years of employment.
Chapman serves as chapter vice president. He competes as a member of the trap team and the soils evaluation and livestock evaluation career development events. Chapman also competed on the agricultural issues forum and the conduct of chapter meetings leadership development events. He attended State FFA Leadership Camp, Washington Leadership Conference and Mizzou Trap Academy.
In addition to FFA, Chapman is a member of the Paris High School varsity baseball team, pep club and art club.
After graduating high school, Chapman plans to attend State Technical College of Missouri, Linn, to study electrical technology. Chapman said he hopes to eventually own his own business.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
