Wilken of Marionville FFA Chapter named Area 12 Star in Placement
SEDALIA, Mo., May 1, 2021 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Ashlin Wilken of the Marionville FFA Chapter as the Area 12 Star in Placement at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. Her parents are Matt Wilken and Gina Littig of Aurora. Her advisor is Brian Leiby.
Area Stars in Placement are selected based upon outstanding achievement in work experience in an agricultural business as a part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. Area 12 includes 21 chapters in the Southwest District.
MFA Inc., Columbia, sponsors the 16 area Star in Placement awards and the State Star in Placement Award.
Wilken’s SAE involves employment at several food service businesses. Within these businesses, Wilken prepares several types of food, implements the proper food safety measures and ensures the proper sanitization of all spaces.
Wilken served as chapter historian. She participated in food science and technology, and dairy foods career development events. She attended State FFA Leadership Camp, Public Speaking Academy, National FFA Convention & Expo, State FFA convention and the University of Missouri Southwest Research Center field day.
In addition to FFA, Wilken serves as student council president and National Honor Society treasurer. She is a member of yearbook committee and science club. She participated in track.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
