McBride of Stockton FFA Chapter named Area 10 Star in Placement
SEDALIA, Mo., May 1, 2021 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Amber McBride of the Stockton FFA Chapter as the Area 10 Star in Placement at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. Her mother is Donna McBride of Jerico Springs. Her advisors are Jim Phillips and Brandon Neil.
Area Stars in Placement are selected based upon outstanding achievement in work experience in an agricultural business as a part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. Area 10 includes 23 chapters in the Southwest District.
MFA Inc., Columbia, Mo., sponsors the 16 area Star in Placement awards and the State Star in Placement Award.
McBride’s SAE involves working at The Boathouse and Lounge, Stockton. She serves as head cook. McBride prepares various meals, smokes and slices various meats, and keeps track of physical inventory for the restaurant.
McBride has served as chapter president, reporter, chaplain and assistant chaplain. She has competed in dairy food, meats, floriculture and grasslands career development events. McBride has attended the National FFA Convention & Expo, and Washington Leadership Conference.
In addition to FFA, McBride is a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; Future Business Leaders of America; global alliance club; math club; and science club. She participates in track and girls weight lifting club. Outside of school, she is a member of Stockton Christian Church Youth Group.
After graduating high school, McBride’s plans include attending Ozark Technical Community College, Springfield, and Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, to study business and lab science.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
