Jones of Higginsville Chapter named State FFA Vice President
SEDALIA, Mo., April 30, 2021 – During the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention, Trenton Jones was named the 2021-2022 State FFA Vice President. Jones is a member of the Higginsville FFA Chapter. His parents are Chris Jones and the late Christy Jones of Higginsville. His advisors are Adam Brock, Stephanie Carpenter and Savannah Taylor.
Jones’ supervised agricultural experience program consists of growing, purchasing, and reselling tropical houseplants. With his SAE, Trent’s Tropicals, he strives to be able to provide high-quality houseplants.
During high school, Jones served as chapter reporter, vice president, and president, and area historian.
Jones participated in FFA knowledge, parliamentary procedures, and job interview leadership development events, and entomology career development event. He won the nursery operations proficiency award. He attended State FFA Leadership Camp, as well as Area Officer Institute.
In addition to FFA, Jones served as National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America president, captain of the drumline, and FBLA district vice president of membership. He participated in the science olympiad.
After graduating high school, Jones’ plans include attending Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, to study agricultural business and horticulture. Jones said he plans to own a large-scale nursery.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
