Grimes of Archie Chapter named State FFA Vice President
SEDALIA, Mo., April 30, 2021 – During the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention, Rachel Grimes was named the 2021-2022 State FFA Vice President. Grimes is a member of the Archie FFA Chapter. Her parents are Ryan and Karrie Grimes of Archie. Her advisor is Matt McIntire.
Grimes’ supervised agricultural experience program consists of a beef operation and a herd of show pigs. She also works for a local show pig producer.
During high school, Grimes served as chapter president, vice president, and treasurer, and area vice president.
Grimes participated at state in nursery/landscaping and dairy cattle evaluation career development events, and FFA knowledge, job interview, and Division I prepared public speaking leadership development events. She received a Group I individual rating in the dairy cattle evaluation CDE. Grimes won the area swine placement and entrepreneurship proficiency awards. She was named the Chapter Star Greenhand and Area Star Farmer. Grimes is a graduate of Helping Youth Prepare for Excellence Academy.
In addition to FFA, Grimes was a member of the National Honor Society; and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. Outside of school, she is a Missouri 4-H member.
After graduating high school, Grimes’ plans include attending Missouri State University, Springfield, to study animal science and nutrition. Grimes said she plans on a career in animal nutrition.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
