Stockton FFA soils evaluation team places second in state competition
SEDALIA, Mo., April 30, 2021 – The Stockton FFA Chapter placed second in the soils evaluation career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. There were 23 teams in the competition.
The team members include Jessi Nelson, Madison Swaggerty and Bianca McBride. Nelson was named top individual in the state, Swaggerty placed tenth and McBride placed 13th out of 81 participants. The Stockton FFA advisors are Brandon Neil and Jim Phillips.
The soils teams evaluate and analyze soil for characteristics critical to production capabilities.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage students in the learning process and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
