Aurora FFA nursery/landscape team places second in state competition
SEDALIA, Mo., April 30, 2021 – The Aurora FFA Chapter placed second in the nursery/landscape career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. There were 26 teams in the competition.
The team members include Devin Sims, Noah Lamb, Alyssa Mooneyham and Grant Henderson. Sims placed third, Lamb placed eighth, Mooneyham placed ninth and Henderson placed 17th out of 95 participants. The Aurora FFA advisors are Samuel Percival and Kristy Sivils.
STIHL Outdoor Power Equipment awards scholarships to the top four individuals in the nursery/landscaping CDE.
Individuals in this event are scored on their knowledge of production, marketing, utilization and culture of landscape plants. Students apply the information they learn in their horticulture and landscape design classes.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
