Marshfield FFA forestry team places second in state competition
SEDALIA, Mo., April 30, 2021 – The Marshfield FFA Chapter placed second in the forestry career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. There were 22 teams in the competition.
The team members include Kaedyn Bailey, Brody McDaniel, Shane Jensen and Patrick Haire. Bailey placed third, McDaniel placed fifth, Jensen placed eighth and Haire placed 12th out of 76 participants. The Marshfield FFA advisors are Justin Cron and Tanner Koenig.
The forestry CDE tests the diversity of the FFA members’ knowledge of the forestry industry. Students must be proficient in tree equipment identification, forest management, forestry applications and also take a general knowledge exam.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
