Hermann FFA farm management team wins state competition
SEDALIA, Mo., April 30, 2021 – The Hermann FFA Chapter won the farm management career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. There were 24 teams in the competition.
The team members include Lucas Eldringhoff, Alli Boedges, Sam Boedges and Ben Engemann. Eldringhoff placed second, Boedges placed fifth, Boedges placed 11th and Engemann placed 33rd out of 86 participants. The Hermann FFA advisors are Doug Ridder and Tracy Vedder.
Individuals in this contest analyzed real-life business problems and completed a detailed exam to prove their understanding of economic principles. Participants used what they learned in their agricultural business classes to compete. Skills the students apply in the event will help them face even greater challenges in their professional lives.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this contest is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage students in learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
