Marshfield FFA entomology team places second in state competition
SEDALIA, Mo., April 30, 2021 – The Marshfield FFA Chapter placed second in the entomology career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. There were 24 teams in the competition.
The team members include Tyler Rhoten, Brayden Green, Haley Barker and Bailey Cass. Rhoten was named top individual in the state, Green placed sixth, Barker placed 19th and Cass placed 41st out of 89 participants. The Marshfield FFA advisors are Justin Cron and Tanner Koenig.
The entomology teams take a written exam on pesticide application and safety regulations as well as identify species of insects.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
