Forsyth FFA agronomy team places third in state competition
SEDALIA, Mo., April 30, 2021 – The Forsyth FFA Chapter placed third in the agronomy career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. There were 24 teams in the competition.
The team members include Ethan Gwin, Nathan Guy, Ashley Matthews and Kylie Calhoun. Gwin placed eighth, Guy placed ninth, Matthews placed 13th and Calhoun placed 17th out of 84 participants. The Forsyth FFA advisors are Clint Gailey and Patrick Holt.
Individuals in this contest evaluate crop production and factors that influence the quality of seed and forage crops.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this contest is one way FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage students in learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
