North Shelby FFA agronomy team places second in state competition
SEDALIA, Mo., April 30, 2021 – The North Shelby FFA Chapter placed second in the agronomy career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. There were 24 teams in the competition.
The team members include Ava Williams, Mary Schwanke, Caroline Linberger and Meg Shively. Williams placed second, Schwanke placed third, Linberger placed sixth and Shively placed ninth out of 84 participants. The North Shelby FFA advisors are Harold Eckler and Mitch Schmidt.
Individuals in this contest evaluate crop production and factors that influence the quality of seed and forage crops.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this contest is one way FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage students in learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
